Masterson Veterinary Clinic offers emergency veterinary care for clients. You can help to make an emergency a successful experience by having the following information prepared:

Keep our phone number accessible: 740/743-1426. In the case of a true veterinary emergency, call this main number, and follow the prompts for emergency contact.

Is it an emergency?

Is your pet having difficulty breathing? If yes, call.

Has your pet been hit by a car? If yes, call.

Is your pet generally unwell? Call during normal business hours and request an appointment. Continue to monitor your pet.

Is your pet bleeding, or does it have an open wound? If yes, call.

Has your pet ingested rat poison? Antifreeze? How much? When? If yes, call IMMEDIATELY.

Is your pet having a seizure? If yes, call. Monitor length of seizure.

Has your pet been attacked by another dog or cat? If so, call under these circumstances: open wounds, pain, cold body temperature.

Does your pet have vomiting or uncontrollable diarrhea?? If so, call. Be prepared to discuss frequency & appearance.

The above scenarios are meant as examples only and do not take the place of professional veterinary advice or care.

Again, keep Masterson Veterinary Clinic's phone number near the phone, and programmed into your cell phone: 740/743-1426.

Please be advised that for all emergency visits, all clients are required to make a minimum of a $150.00 deposit for veterinary care, payable by cash, check, or credit card.

A pet first aid kit is an essential household item! It should contain bandages, nail trimmers, triple antibiotic ointment, a thermometer, and any other supplies recommended by your Masterson Veterinary professional.
